The next issue is Benign Juvenile Epilepsy, we do not have any Lagotto with that problem, our female dogs are clear and stud that we use are clear, the disease is not a fatal illness but should be scary to have a puppy with that particular trait.

The last one is Lagotto Store Disease, we do not breed any dogs that carry that gene, and all our dogs are clear.

Yes, they are alarm barkers … like almost 98% of the dogs. And will depend of the training that you provide to prevent excess barking.

The Lagotto Romagnolo is an Italian known best as truffle dog, historically used for duck retrieving, now they new job is a truffle hunting and digging is one of the favorite job description, we suggest that you select one part of your yard for that task.

They need frequent grooming, their hair (yes hair, that is the beautiful of this breed) grow a lot so you will need to take frequency trips to the groomer or learn how to do it yourself. I will provide great videos on youtube and books if you want to learn.

Lagotto Romagnolo are active working dogs with a good deal of stamina, but they are not hyperactive, they will require about 30 to 60 minutes of daily exercise, they are athletic but manageable with a solid walk and some play time or nose work, but mostly they need consistent mental stimulation, solving Puzzles and training.
